Fans Speak Out!
More than 4,000 college and high school students, as well as other supporters, have joined our Facebook group. Below are emails and messages by fans supporting the Braves posted in that group. The authors names are only put as initials to protect their privacy, as the comments were mostly made on the access-controlled web site.

"Thank you so much for all you're doing. The Richmond Braves have been a part of my life ever since I was an infant and seeing them go would be seeing my childhood memories disappear." - D.F.

"I have been going to braves games pretty much my whole life. Going to the ball park on Sundays and running the bases as a little kid and playing catch in the outfield after the games and seeing the fireworks every year on the forth of July were just a few childhood memories I had at the diamond. I actually got the opportunity to work for the Richmond braves this past season and it was the greatest thing I have ever been apart of. The Braves are part of this cities history and they can't get rid of them!" - M.E.

"I saw Chipper Jones here when I was three, even though I don't really remember. I got his autograph and it still means a lot to me. The government downtown has to do something about this because without the R-Braves, Richmond has nothing left."-B.D.

"I support the Braves... not some team just because they playing on that field." S.C.

"Anybody with any knowledge of Triple-A baseball knows The Diamond was the worst facility at that level of organized baseball.  That is stating the obvious.  On the other hand, Richmond has many loyal and astute baseball fans, fans who have supported their team very, very well over many years.  In my earlier years in Syracuse, we came to consider the rivalry between the Braves and Chiefs one of the strongest in the International League... [Richmond] is a great baseball town, and its fans deserve to be able to watch the national pastime in a venue that is not a total embarrassment like The Diamond." -D.H.
